No More Excuses
Food.
It seems as though no matter how excited and passionate I am, there are those who choose not to hear. They listen, but they do not understand. They ask, but they really don't care what the answer is. Even if the answer is backed with solid evidence and sufficient logic is supplied, it seems an insurmountable obstacle to undo a lifetime of misguided thinking.
Who am I to speak with such authority? What gives me the right to tell you what you think you know could be wrong? I am no different than you or anyone else. I grew up learning and thinking the same wrong things. Everyone told me that FAT is BAD and will cause me to die of heart disease. I had no reason to doubt these people, so why should I think anything different? I mean, these are our doctors and teachers and scientists; people who are supposed to care about our well-being, right?
But I had to stop and ask, "why aren't things getting better and why is this not working?" So I dug deeper and searched out different roads. Turns out, we do have alot of the answers out there for us. We just need to look. So now I am just passing information on. I have nothing to gain by feeding you lies. In fact, I have ALOT to lose by telling you lies. My chosen path is to help people live better lives. For me to deliberately harm and lie would be to destroy all of my dreams and contradict the very core of my personality.
If you don't want to believe me, that is fine. But PLEASE, go figure it out on your own. Come back and ask questions. Ask other people and even TRY IT for yourself. Don't think that you can keep pushing your health to the side. What are YOU passionate about? How much better could that be if you slept soundly every night, had tons of energy during the day and great mental clarity? Questions are welcomed and encouraged. Excuses won't fly. Not enough time? Really?? Is watching the biggest loser really more important than you becoming the biggest loser? You want to spend more time on the stuff you love? Good, me too! Start taking care of yourself. See how that effects the QUALITY of the time you spend on the stuff you love.
I've read up on the science. I've learned from the chemists, doctors and coaches. That stuff is great, but you know what is better? Personal experience. I feel better. I look better. I perform better. I get sick wayyy less. My friends, family and clients who have really taken their nutrition seriously have similiar and even more inspiring results than me. Type II diabetes - reversed. Thyroid meds - gone. Lifelong allergy problems - gone. Gluten intolerance - discovered, addressed.
I am inspired and blessed to be part of a group of people that choose to live better lives. They choose to not be lazy, and to enjoy life.
My challenge to you: No more excuses.
