Before starting the paleo diet I was eating pasta almost every night, and frozen diet meals at lunch (full of sodium) and barely ate any vegetables (maybe once a week). Since changing my eating habits I have been eating more fruits, vegetables, meats, and nuts than I have ever eaten in my life - and I've lost 9.4 pounds so far! I feel so much more satisfied with the kinds of healthy foods I have been eating and am surprisingly enjoying making dinner and planning out my meals. Eating paleo foods has changed the way I think about food! I no longer feel guilty about what I'm eating, because I know that the foods I am fueling my body with not only taste good but make me feel better too!
I definitely haven't stuck with my paleo diet 100% of the time, but have tried to eat mostly paleo. In the past 2 months I have to admit that I've (over)splurged on non-paleo foods on a few occasions, and every time I have felt so sick to my stomach that I've lost sleep. The way that non-paleo foods (especially pasta and breads) have made me feel after eating them only add to my desire to continue eating paleo foods!
In regard to exercise, I am excited about the progress I am seeing with Cross Fit. The technique that I am learning, the challenging workouts, and the time I am taking to stretch make me feel like I am making the most of every hour I spend working out! For the first time I am setting fitness goals for myself and actually believe that I can meet them! People have mentioned that they've noticed a change in how I look, and it's only been 2 months since I changed my diet and 1 month since I started my Cross Fit workouts! I am SO EXCITED to see how this lifestyle change, both in diet and fitness, will continue to change my life!
